- What is it about "talking to" the anti-Jacob that makes it the end of the argument? And btw, I don't fully buy that it really is beyond their choice (interesting, it's the free will vs destiny/fate debate again)

- Ok, so this is Sawyer trying to take care of Kate...and now he's trying to help Jack and the others; He is yet again showing how much he's changed
- Ok, but Desmond's already dead, so Sayid can't kill him...I wonder if anti-Jacob is going to use that as an excuse to attack the Widmore camp. Maybe he'll claim that they took back Desmond on their own, maybe even that they stole something or kidnapped him or something like that to rally the troops against Widmore

- Kate, who has lied for what seems like her whole life, is now worried about breaking a promise to/about Claire. Interesting switch
- So revealing. "He's the only one who didn't abandon me" which is Claire talking about anti-Jacob. It's a similar idea to what Ben expressed about going to be with anti-Jacob. It's totally true, that often people pick someone or a group to belong to because they are who accepts them, no other good reason
- Is it possible that Claire's crazy can be broken?

- Good point, Jack. I never thought about not really wanting to get off the island because anti-Jacob DOES want them to get off.
- In some ways, this is a role reversal between Jack and Sawyer here, where Sawyer's in charge, and Jack jumps out (of the boat vs the helicopter) and stays on the island. Quite interesting

And no, Jack is NOT with anti-Jacob, he just happens to physically be there at the moment. But he doesn't trust anti-Jacob any more than he has in the past. That's clear from Jack's discussion with Sawyer on the boat before he jumped off.

I was quite happy with this episode myself. However when I got into bed I realized that Jack had just swam the same speed as the boat. (As he got to the coastline at the same time as the boat did and from the look of it they were about halfway when he jumped.) Man, watch out Michael Phelps!
I was thinking about the redemption of the lock-ites (Claire (I can't help but say that with an accent in my head) and Syid) when Hurley mentioned coming back from the dark side. Generally as a writer you wouldn't throw something like that out there without it being an issue at some point. (The whole "tripping over the phone" rule. (Don't have a character trip over the phone unless you are going to need it later.)) I would really like to see Claire come back from crazy though.
Good catch on the role reversal and jumping out of the boat. Didn't catch that.
Anti-Locke reminds me of a guy I went to school with in Jr. High. He always seemed like he was on the edge of doing something horribly violent, yet he was always externally fairly calm. Same with Anti-Locke. He, being the smoke monster, can really break it out when he wants to. So you're never really sure if he will.
And finally, I feel like Kate's character (Island Kate, not sideways Kate) at the moment isn't so much a character change, as it is kind of a "what do we do with her." She is WAY less strong than she used to be, and she's no longer the one that the guys are interested in, she seems to make eyes at Sawyer AND Jack, and both of them kind of blow her off.
Thoughts for the future:
1. Do you think Widmore reneged on his promise because Claire was there? (Tina Fey look-alike asked who was with them)
2. Do you think that Jack will restore Locke's ability to walk in the flash side-ways? (Kind of like the same way he saved Ben early on?)
3. What are the odds we're going to see Widmore bleeding at least once more before the show is out. =)
4. After this episode does it change your thoughts on who might be the Jacob replacement?
5. Who was Jack married to!? Who is the kid's mother!? This is driving me crazy.
